An impressive statement bracelet from the Victorian (ca1890) era! Crafted in 18kt gold, the bangle incorporates a realistic ram's head motif into a stylish Etruscan design. Each 3-dimensional ram's head is incredibly detailed, including curling horns, slanted eyes detailed with a rose cut diamond, sculpted facial features, and lightly etched texture to represent soft fur. Applied Etruscan wirework and beadwork accents carry onto the bracelet band and detail the opposite end of the bracelet, adding further dimension with eye-catching geometric patterns! A smooth, matte finish that carries around the bracelet provides the perfect finishing touch, giving the piece a luxurious look and feel. The bracelet is hinged at the back, allowing the bracelet to be opened at the front to fit comfortably on the wrist. Beside the hinge is a small gold plaque stamped with "PAT.OCT.25.76" and "PAT.JUNE.29.90". An outstanding collector's piece with a strong Victorian look, this bracelet is a true antique treasure!
Measurements: The interior of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures about 2 3/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall. Its inner circumference is 6 1/2" and the cuff is just under 3/8" thick. It would fit nicely on a medium wrist. The ram's head measures about 3/4" long and just under 1" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and all of the Etruscan details remain intact. The diamond is intact and securely set and the hinge is in good working condition.
