A wonderful mother of pearl horse head pendant from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This lovely pendant is comprised of a mother of pearl plaque, which has been intricately hand carved to depict a horse's head. The mother of pearl shell displays a wonderful iridescent color, and hangs from a simple ring at the top of the head, perfect for attaching to a long chain. The charming horse's head is fitted with gold-filled findings, including reins, bridle, and eye covers that create a realistic appearance. This stunning piece would look fabulous worn on a long chain or cord, and is perfect for the equestrian enthusiast!
Measurements: The horse's head measures approximately 1" long, is 1 1/8" at the widest point, and 3/16" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the carved mother of pearl or to the gold filled findings.
