A beautiful mixed metals locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! The oval-shaped locket, which is particularly large in size, displays a blooming rose gold flower at the center, finished with large green gold leaves lining its stem. Engraved details provide texture to the design, and a scalloped rose gold border surrounds the central image. Finishing the stunning design is a delicate beadwork pattern that lines the outer edge. The piece hangs from a fluted sterling bail at the top and when opened, the interior of the locket reveals two open spaces, perfect for storing special photographs inside. A lovely example of Victorian artistry, this exceptional locket would make a special keepsake addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2 1/4" long, including the bail. The oval locket itself measures 1 3/4" tall, 1 3/8" wide, and 1/4" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting or gold mixed metal details. The locket opens easily and snaps securely shut.
